FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What is Quest KL?

Quest KL is a detailed, immersive treasure hunt with multiple checkpoints and challenging tasks, ideal for enhancing teamwork.

2. Who can participate in this treasure hunt?

This activity is perfect for casual city tourists, locals, friends and family, as well as corporate teams, organizations, and groups seeking a unique team-building experience. It’s suitable for participants of all fitness levels.

3. What are the roles in the team?

For Quest KL, participants need to select specific roles (e.g., Captain, Navigator, etc.) to enhance teamwork.

4. Where does the treasure hunt take place?

The hunt is located within Kuala Lumpur City Center, covering both historic landmarks and modern attractions.

5. How long does the activity last?

Quest KL sessions last around 2 hours, depending on your team’s pace.

6. What kind of challenges will we face?

Challenges include a mix of searching, counting, eating, drinking, photo and video tasks, and puzzles that engage your senses—sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch—while connecting with Malaysia’s cultural heritage.

7. Is this activity conducted physically or digitally?

The activity is conducted physically but relies on your smartphone to play the game. Participants explore the city and engage in challenges at various checkpoints. Ensure your smartphone is fully charged and has sufficient internet data for a seamless experience.

8. How does the QR code system work?

At each checkpoint, you’ll find a QUEST Q logo with a QR code. Scanning it reveals a clue for the next location, a challenge to complete, and a letter. Collect all letters to form a keyword needed to complete the final task.

9. What does a self-guided tour mean? Is there a host or someone on site?

A self-guided tour means you follow the clues and storyline at your own pace without a guide accompanying you throughout the hunt.  There is no constant on-site host, but you can contact the Quest KL Host for special arrangements or information.

10. Are facilitators required for the treasure hunt, or can we run it on our own?

Facilitators are optional, but highly recommended for a smoother and more engaging treasure hunt experience. They provide live interaction, guidance, and help keep the energy high at each checkpoint.

Without facilitators, the event runs using our self-guided QR code system, where participants scan QR codes at each checkpoint to get their clues and instructions instead of meeting a physical marshal.

Both options are fun, but facilitators help everything run more smoothly — especially for larger groups or corporate events.

11. How do we submit our answers?

Once you have completed all challenges and formed the keyword, submit everything via the landing page provided at the end. Make sure to enter the correct keyword or code to successfully finish the hunt.

12. What language is the hunt conducted in?

The primary language used is English, but there are also Malay elements to enhance the local experience.

13. What should we bring?

Bring comfortable walking shoes, a fully charged smartphone with a QR scanner, and a positive team spirit. Some locations may require sun protection or a small umbrella or poncho in case of light rain.

14. Is this activity weather-dependent?

The activity runs rain or shine, but in severe weather, outdoor checkpoints may be adjusted for safety. You may also have the option to extend the time or postpone the activity.

15. How do we get more information?

For special arrangements and detailed information, please contact the Quest KL Host to learn more.
